Set Us Free!

I found this poem that I had written my sophomore year of college and wanted to share it with you all! Enjoy!

Set Us Free

Life is like a constant storm,
Sometimes calm but sometimes fierce.
But we've only got one life to live,
And there is One who always pulls us out.

No matter how far you've set sail,
No matter how deep in the water you are,
He is there to rescue you.
The Savior we need for these storms of ours,
We are drowning, Lord, please set us free.

Drowning in fear, hurt, and frustration,
There is the kind of hope you've been searching.
You are not alone and someone understands,
His name is Jesus and He's reaching out to you.

No matter how far you've set sail,
No matter how deep in the water you are,
He is there to rescue you.
The Savior we need for these storms of ours,
We are drowning, Lord, please set us free.

These different storms will come and pass,
Most times more than once in a life.
But the Lord never changes and never leaves,
His heart cries for you to learn His love.

No matter how far you've set sail,
No matter how deep in the water you are,
He is always here to rescue us.
A Savior who calms all of these storms,
We may still hurt, but Jesus, you've set us free.
